Code of Conduct
Version 2.0 · Last updated: 3 May 2026
BuiltByGo Ltd is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and in compliance with all applicable laws. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect of ourselves, our employees, contractors, suppliers, and partners. It is binding on all who work for or with us.
This Code is approved by the board of BuiltByGo Ltd and reviewed at least annually.
1. Ethics and integrity
We conduct business with honesty, integrity, and fairness. We: comply with all applicable laws in every jurisdiction where we operate; treat clients, partners, employees, contractors, and the public with respect; honour our contractual commitments; and refuse work that would require us to act unethically or unlawfully.
2. Anti-bribery and anti-corruption
BuiltByGo Ltd has a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption, in accordance with the UK Bribery Act 2010 and equivalent international anti-corruption legislation.
Our employees, contractors, and suppliers must not offer, promise, give, or accept any financial or other advantage with the intention of inducing improper conduct; make facilitation payments; or accept gifts or hospitality that could reasonably be perceived as influencing business decisions. Any gift or hospitality exceeding £50 must be declared and approved in advance. Cash gifts are never accepted. We maintain accurate books and records and comply with all applicable economic sanctions and trade controls.
3. Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone to report concerns about unethical behaviour, legal violations, or breaches of this Code without fear of retaliation. We protect whistleblowers in accordance with the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.
Reports can be made confidentially to whistleblowing@builtbygo.com, including anonymously. We acknowledge receipt within 5 working days, investigate promptly and fairly, protect the reporter's identity, and take no retaliatory action.
External reporting routes include Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk / 0300 123 2040), the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk / 0303 123 1113), HM Revenue and Customs (gov.uk/hmrc-fraud-hotline), Protect (protect-advice.org.uk / 020 3117 2520), and the relevant sector regulator.
4. Conflicts of interest
All employees and contractors must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with those of BuiltByGo or its clients. Actual or potential conflicts must be disclosed immediately to the founder or a director. We maintain a conflicts register reviewed at board level.
5. Diversity, equality, and inclusion
We comply with the Equality Act 2010 and make hiring, advancement, and engagement decisions on merit and capability. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of any protected characteristic. We expect our suppliers and partners to uphold equivalent standards.
6. Data protection and privacy
We comply with UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and applicable international data protection laws. Our practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, and Sub-processors register. All employees and contractors must handle personal data only for legitimate business purposes, follow our information security framework, adhere to our AI Usage Policy, and report any suspected data breach immediately.
7. Information security
All employees and contractors must follow our information security framework, including multi-factor authentication on all infrastructure and administrative access, compliance with access control and encryption policies, and reporting of suspected security incidents without delay.
8. Supplier code of conduct
We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to uphold standards consistent with this Code: compliance with all applicable laws; ethical labour practices including fair wages and safe working conditions; environmental responsibility; data protection standards consistent with our own; zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, modern slavery, or human trafficking; and compliance with sanctions and trade controls.
9. Modern slavery
BuiltByGo Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery in our business and supply chain. See our Modern Slavery Statement for our full position.
10. Environmental responsibility
We minimise environmental impact by operating on cloud infrastructure with published net-zero commitments (Cloudflare, Supabase, Sanity, and others), operating without on-premises servers, working remotely where reasonable, and preferring suppliers with stronger environmental commitments.
11. Reporting and enforcement
Material breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination, reporting to relevant authorities, or legal proceedings. The board is responsible for implementation; the founder is the named point of accountability for ethical conduct.
12. Review and updates
This Code is reviewed at least annually and on any material change to applicable law or business practice.
